Even though it has been a few weeks since we discussed being “haunted by history”, a conversation I was having with my grandmother reminded me of it. She and a few of my cousins do genealogy research fairly regularly and one of them had come across something unusual. They had found a book written about my great grandfather, her father, written by someone completely unrelated to our family. Apparently, his career as a music professor was much better know than we had assumed and now he has been immortalized as a feature in the history of South Dakota.
